Does anyone realize that Charles and David Koch held the U.S. (and global) economy hostage?
Their astroturf movement elected members to congress who, in an episode of sheer idiotic fuckery, held the full faith and credit of the United States hostage, causing the U.S.’s credit rating to be downgraded and cost the economy $1.3 billion— all to trim the budget by $21 billion.

A nice reminder that you don’t actually live in a democracy, Americans.
I tend to tell people we live in a Corporate Republic (as in corporations get together and vote on what our laws should be). It is not 100% true, but way more true than it should be.
